Polyetherether ketone(PEEK) is a linear polymer with a macromolecular chain consists of aryl, ketone, and ether. Among semicrystalline aromatic polymers, only PEEK can be produced in large quantities. The molecular structural formula of the PEEK is as below:

PEEK is a kind of new linear aromatic semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastics, and it has recognized as the best available thermoplastic materials, currently. PEEK is a repetitive unti consists of oxy-1,4-phenylene-oxy-1,4-phenylene-hydro-a and 4-phenylene.

  1. High temperature resistance

The glass transition temperature of PEEK and its compounds is 143 C degree, the melting point is 334 C degree. Independent results show that the max heat deformation temperature of PEEK is 315 C degree after GF or CF reinforcement. The long-team operation temperature is 250 C degree.

PEEK has excellent toughness and rigidity. It is a material of the most perfect combination of toughness and rigidity among all the resins.

Even in the case of continuous temperature rising is also not soluble in many organis and inorganic liquids. PEEK is very excellent corrosion-resistance materials.

PEEK is highly stable material.It can reach V-0 low flammability level when it is in a size of 1.45 mm(0.057 inch) without flame retardants. It generates low smoke because its composition and natural purity.

    PEEK has the characteristics of low specific gravity ( pure resin 1.32) and various processing methods(injection/extrusion/mold/blow/electrostatic spraying), and it is easily compounded, so the materials are very economical and practical.

PEEK can be used in environment with over 250 C degree (482 F degree) steam of high water pressure for hundreds of hours without large property debasement.
